Haresh said ‘I cannot believe its been 25 years! I am overjoyed, humbled and truly touched by the support. Only a few special people were not present. The hair charity has given us special broach this year to recognise the 4th hair donation. I want to say a big thank you to all my friends, family and neighbours who have come together to celebrate this benchmark. When people say well done to me, I have to remind them, it is not me alone, it is everyone else’s support which enables me and the team to do our work. The work we do focuses on selfless service to others in need and bringing important issues to the forefront. We try to raise awareness and funds with a difference and support smaller and more unique causes. I always say to people, instead of giving money to big charities, give something else; i.e. some time to elderly people who are lonely and simply need a chat, or donate your blood, hair or bone marrow, give food or shelter to someone who needs it, or simply make someone laugh who is depressed by cheering them up. Life is short, radiate positivity, it will come back on you, don’t waste time on lost causes. A special mention has to go to a dear friend who passed away last year who helped me start all of my work; Mr. Kaval Vaseer from the BBC who gave me a voice on his Radio Show in 1994 as his journalist to pass on my messages on and carry out the work we have been doing. It has been memorable to remember old friends who supported us from the start. Since 1994, I have managed to engage mostly all the people I know including friends, family and loved ones and may this support continue to grow!’
The anniversary celebrations will continue with two more projects, Haresh who is also a professionally trained Actor and a stand up comedian, will host a comedy evening for positive mental health. He also intends to complete his cycling and swimming challenge for his triathlon promoting healthy living to people of all ages and walks of life.
